
There are a variety of bars in Wimbledon close to The Watershed, here are our current recommendations.
Suburban Bar & Lounge is a cool, owner-operated cocktail bar near Wimbledon Station. There’s a 170 different cocktails on the menu and expert mixologists are on hand to whip them up for you.
Not only a bar, but also a cafe and restaurant (where we’re brunching and curing hangovers at the moment) Bills serves organic produce and great food & drinks – so much so that we’re willing to overlook the fact that its part of a huge chain and pretend that its our own local hipster coffee shop. They can’t get a flat white right, but we live in hope.
Many a tear was shed in Wimbledon as Walkabout became Billabong which then closed. The Old Frizzle has replaced them both on The Broadway and offers “Fine wine, beautifully crafted food, quality beer, live sport and music. There’s sometimes live music during the week and DJs at the weekend.
Ok, it’s not really a bar at all but we go there to drink and whilst we’re drinking we have a steak. Al Forno is a fine Italian, always busy with a regular crowd and welcoming waiters. It’s better in every way than the many chain restaurants that populate Wimbledon.
